I completely agree with this article. I recently coached my sister-in-law through an interview. Simple things like printed copies of her resume on cotton paper and matching envelopes, a nice binder and pen can help to set a image of seriousness and preparedness. My sister-in-law did land the job and she credited it to some of the advice I gave her (although she is awesome herself). Take your preparation seriously and you will set yourself up for success.

Looking back…the physically out-of-shape bit seems to ring true to every poor employer/management I’ve experience.

Looks like I should shop around more carefully for my first gig after college!

This is a great post, and a good blog I’m glad I found. Many of these goals/focuses line up with myself (as Dimitry commented).

Except i’m more into short film/movies than photography. But they are similar nonetheless!

Rob – great photos!! In scanning the web I noticed a picture you have taken of the 514 Section sign at Heinz Field. This sign holds special meaning for my cousin & I. I’m planning on getting one made for his house this Fall but I don’t have a quality photo. Would it be possible to email a color version of the photo you took? Thank you – Chip

Your schlock makes me ill. Who are you trying to convince with your little self righteous crap speech; you, your coworkers, or your 13 blog readers? It amazes me that you don’t see that your answer reads like some fake self-help book. Anyone who has followed you for any period of time knows full well what motivates you.
